Starry, Starry Night captures all the mood of Christmas. Greg Newlon's contemporary guitar arrangements of traditional carols like O Come All Ye Faithful, I Wonder as I Wander and Silent Night will set your festive mood. If I Can't Sing with You this Christmas and Christmas for Cowboys will warm your heart. Forget About Me, and Carol McComb's The Christmas Star will remind you to pour yourself out to those in need during the holidays. Everybody's Singin' 'bout Christmas and When Shepherds Watched will just make you feel good, and the title track, Starry, Starry Night, is a humble telling of the Christmas story.

"For folk junkies this is Heaven on earth, the mother lode. These two communicate on all sorts of levels, and the music reflects that superb chemistry. The music is acoustic, well-crafted, creative, homey, and stunningly delicious."

Carol Swanson, ChristmasReviews.com

"Starry, Starry Night is an absolute wonder. The album contains both terrific takes on old standards, as well as hauntingly beautiful original songs. And if that wasn't enough, Ms. Barnett's voice borders on the angelic, with a purity reminiscent of Alison Krauss and Karen Carpenter. A must for anyone's Christmas music collection."

Art Polimeno, Program Director, ChristmasRadio.com

O Come All Ye Faithful/The First Noel
Traditional/arranged by Greg Newlon

O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant
O come ye, o come ye to Bethlehem
Come and behold him, born the King of angels
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
Christ the Lord

Sing choirs of angels, sing in exultation
Sing all ye citizens of heaven above
Glory to god in the highest
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
Christ the Lord

The first noel, the angels did say
O come let us adore him
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
O come let us adore him
O come let us adore him
Christ the Lord

Starry, Starry Night
Bev Barnett

Starry, starry night shepherds watching
Oh what a site, on a starry night
The angels fill the sky with so much glory that they blind the starry night

Starry, starry night, three guys watching
To see the brightest light, on a starry night
They don't know where they're going but the follow on a starry night

Starry, starry night, mom and dad watching
Newborn babies eyes on a starry night
Staring down in wonder at our savior who was born on a starry night

Starry night

Starry, starry night, are you watching?
The sky is shining bright on this starry night
'cause the diamonds of the heavens are the same ones that were shining
On the shepherds and the wise men and the savior on that starry, starry night

Starry night

Everybody's Singing 'bout Christmas
Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon

When the snowflakes touch me like a gentle kiss
I know its high time to make my wish list
Bells are ringing, everybody's singing 'bout Christmas

There's a twinkle in the eye of every girl and boy
They're thinking 'bout unwrapping all those brand new toys
Bells are ringing, everybody's singing 'bout Christmas

Its that time of year
When its all about spreading 'round some holiday cheer
Bells are ringing, everybody's singing 'bout Christmas

We'll get some red poinsettias and some holly wreaths
And decorate our houses up and down the street
Bells are ringing, everybody's singing 'bout Christmas

Its that time of year
When its all about spreading 'round some holiday cheer
Bells are ringing, everybody's singing 'bout Christmas

If I Can't Sing with You This Christmas
Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon

Here I am - its midway through December
Coldest year I think I can remember
Sitting by the fire, I got a chill when I heard you say
You might not make it back by Christmas day

The tree is up, the lights are softly twinkling
Close my eyes, and in my heart I'm dreaming
Hand in hand we’re caroling at every open door
Just like we’ve done so many times before

If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
There might as well not be snow
I'll hear your voice in the whisper of the evergreens
I'll see your eyes in the candle’s glow
‘cause darling in your song, right or wrong
I've found my only home
If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
At least I'll know I’m never alone

Every year, far back as i remember
Here we’d sit, mid-way through December
Singing ‘round the fire, i got a chill when you touched my hand
It took me until now to understand

If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
There might as well not be snow
I'll hear your voice in the whisper of the evergreens
I'll see your eyes in the candle’s glow
‘cause darling in your song, right or wrong
I've found my only home
If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
At least I'll know I’m never alone

And though you’re far away i can hear your harmony
It warms the winter chill and leaves your love reminding me

That in your song, right or wrong
I've found my only home
If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
At least I’ll know I'm never alone

If I can’t sing with you this Christmas
At least I’ll know ...
I'm never alone
I'm never alone

Forget About Me
Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon

It’s getting colder; we knew it would
It’s almost Christmas in the neighborhood
Some poor kid wants something that he might not get
A new leather jacket or a TV set
And his mama says “don’t worry, Santa won’t forget”

Two blocks from nowhere, in a house of doubt
Its even colder, ‘cause the fire’s gone out
Some poor kid wants something that he might not get
A little something to eat before he goes to bed
And his mama says “don’t worry, God won’t forget”

I’m gonna have a merry, merry Christmas
I’m gonna trim an eight foot Christmas tree
And I’m gonna pray for him that God remembers
And I’m telling Santa to forget about me

Another village, a world away
The bombs are dropping, the mines are laid
Some poor kid wants something that she might not get
Just to know if her daddy’s alive or dead
And a mama  that still believes God won’t forget

I’m gonna have a merry, merry Christmas
I’m gonna trim an eight foot Christmas tree
And I’m gonna pray for them that God remembers
And I’m telling Santa to forget about me

While Shepherds Watched
Nathum Tate - Adapted by Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon

While shepherds watched their flocks by night all seated on the ground
The angels of the Lord came down to spread some news around
The angels knew the fear that lived inside their troubled minds
And said to them we bring good news beneath the star that shines

He is God, come to the earth in silent wonder
He is God, come to bring you peace
He is God, come to bring the world salvation
He is God, and His love will never cease

In Bethlehem today is born a son of David’s line
A Savior who is Christ the Lord and this shall be the sign
A baby in a manger wrapped in rags instead of lace
The light of peace for all the world to see there in his face

He is God, come to the earth in silent wonder
He is God, come to bring you peace
He is God, come to bring the world salvation
He is God, and His love will never cease

He is God, come to the earth in silent wonder
He is God, come to bring you peace
He is God, come to bring the world salvation
He is God, and His love will never cease

He is God and His love will never cease

The Christmas Star

Carol McComb

It was on a Christmas Eve years ago
The city was covered in snow
When all of the gentle folk were tucked in their beds
And outside the bitter winds did blow
There was a little girl whose form could be seen
In a doorway down on skid row
Except for this child out on poverty street
There was nothing but ice and snow

A strange dream had wakened this brave little girl
Whose bed was a blanket on the floor
In the loft of a cold and abandoned old church
Where she slept with the homeless and poor
She pulled that blanket around her so tight
And went out in the cold night alone
She looked up through the clear and frozen sky
And her sweet voice range through the snow

Star of wonder, star so bright
I dreamed your heavenly, holy light
Came back to earth on this Christmas night
Came to shine on me
Star of Baby Jesus’ birth
Born to light the universe
Born to bring peace and love to earth
Oh won’t you shine on me

And there in the stillness and hush of the night
A tiny star suddenly did glow
She stood up on tiptoe and squealed with delight
Could it be the distant star had grown?
The more she sang her song, the more the star grew
With a radiance she never had known
The star shone so bright on the street where she stood
That it began to melt the ice and snow

Way across town those in their feather beds
Were sleeping warm while the firelight glowed
Their stockings were stuffed and their trees were all trimmed
Their dreams full of gifts and mistletoe
But here in the old church with their blankets threadbare
Who through winter slept chilled to the bone
All dreamt of the sweet song that filled the night air
And the star’s light that melted the snow

Star of wonder, star so bright
I dreamed your heavenly, holy light
Came back to earth on this Christmas night
Came to shine on me
Star of Baby Jesus’ birth
Born to light the universe
Born to bring peace and love to earth
Oh won’t you shine on me

First on, then another woke from the same dream
Got up from their bedding on the floor
And shaking the sleep from their slumbering heads
All stumbled downstairs to the door
There was the young girl still singing so sweet
In a circle of glistening gold
The star’s light had melted the length of the street
Where there had been only ice and snow

What a wonderful mystery unfolded that night
What a wonderful sight to behold
For even though their clothes were tattered and torn
They were warm from their heads to their toes
They lifted their voices to join that sweet song
As they danced on the cobblestones
They were bathed in the beauty of wondrous starlight
Where before there was only ice and snow

Star of wonder, star so bright
I dreamed your heavenly, holy light
Came back to earth on this Christmas night
Came to shine on me
Star of Baby Jesus’ birth
Born to light the universe
Born to bring peace and love to earth
Oh won’t you shine on me

Star of wonder, star so bright
I dreamed your heavenly, holy light
Came down to earth on this Christmas night
Came to shine on me
Star of Baby Jesus’ birth
Born to light the universe
Born to bring peace and love to earth
Oh won’t you shine on me

Christmas for Cowboys

Steve Weisberg

Tall in the saddle we spend Christmas Day,
Drivin' the cattle on the snow-covered plains.
All of the good gifts given today;
Ours is the sky and the wide open range.

Back in the cities, they have diff'rent ways,
Football and eggnog and Christmas parades.
I'll take the blanket; I'll take the reins;
Christmas for cowboys and wide open plains.

A campfire for warmth as we stop for the night;
The stars overhead are the Christmas-tree lights,
The wind sings a hymn as we bow down to pray;
Christmas for cowboys and the wide open range.

It's tall in the saddle we spend Christmas Day,
Drivin' the cattle on the snow-covered plains.
So many gifts have been opened today;
Ours is the sky and the wide open range,
It's Christmas for cowboys and wide open plains.
